The Gothia Cup will play July 17-21, 2019 in Gothenburg, Sweden. One of the most recognizable youth tournaments in the world the Gothia Cup will have approximately 1,800 teams from 80 nations participating in 2019. United Soccer Academy can customize programs between 8-14 days that include participation in the Gothia Cup combine with training camps with professional clubs in Germany, Denmark, or Norway or combined with another soccer tournament in Europe. 2019 Age Groups & Playing Times:
G18 - Girls born 1/1-01 and later (2x25 in group play; 2x30 in playoffs)
G16 - Girls born 1/1-03 and later (2x25 in group play; 2x30 in playoffs)
G15 - Girls born 1/1-04 and later (2x25 in group play; 2x30 in playoffs)
G14 - Girls born 1/1-05 and later (2x20 in group play; 2x15 in playoffs)
G13 - Girls born 1/1-06 and later (2x20 in group play; 2x15 in playoffs)
G12 - Girls born 1/1-07 and later (7-a-side) | (2x20 in group play; 2x15 in playoffs)
G11 - Girls born 1/1-08 and later (7-a-side) | (2x20 in group play; 2x15 in playoffs)
The number of players per team: There is no limit to the number of players in each team. However, only 7 substitutes are allowed in each match of 11-a-side and 5 substitutes in 7-a-side matches. All players must be able to show proof of age and identity.
Age Dispensations: Dispensations will automatically be given to two players per squad who are maximum one year over aged (11 a side). This only applies to 11-a-side categories. For 7-a-side, no dispensation will automatically be accepted. Dispensations for 7-a-side teams can be applied by contacting the Gothia Cup office. Note that in 11-a-side categories you can’t have more than two over-aged players on the player's list, i.e., you can’t switch them between matches.
